A COMMUNITY SERVED
Rhonda has a history of confronting obstacles and plowing them down. Her altruistic nature is demonstrated by the countless hours Rhonda has given to pro bono work.
She pioneered a legal clinic assisting low-income families. And, when hundreds were left homeless by Hurricane Katrina and relocated temporarily to North Texas, Rhonda personally manned a parking-lot grill to feed victims.
Rhonda, an experienced dancer, choreographer and teacher, helped raise $2.1 million over the last 34 years to fund more than 60 law scholarships at SMU's Dedman School of Law, UNT College of Law, and Texas A&M University School of Law, as the choreographer and an assistant director for the Bar None variety show.
She created a task force to study perceptions of justice in Dallas County courts. She taught audiences from New York to Texas about the historical significance of Brown v. Board of Education and spearheaded a committee to educate 200,000 school children about the case. The State Bar awarded the Star of Merit for the Brown v. Board projects developed under Rhonda’s direction.
